On Saturday 14th October a small group came together to officially mark the opening of the Ball Wall in Garda Westmanstown Gaels GAA in Dublin 15.

The event was held for two purposes;

firstly, to acknowledge the completion of this project as a key piece of infrastructure in the development of hurling, camogie and football at our club, a project initially started by George Kyne in Easter 2021.

The final stage of the project was the painting of the wall which was carried out by Club PRO, Keith Robertson over the summer.

Secondly, the club wanted to show its appreciation for the incredible generosity of Vinny Lynch, through his company Party Delights, in the sponsorship of the ball wall.

The club would not be able to grow and support its fledgling gaa teams if it were not for our sponsors, and it is important that these contributions are recognised.

The club executive invited local representatives to attend and we were delighted to welcome Senator (and proud club parent) Emer Currie and FG Councillor Siobhan Shovlin to mark the special occasion. Club Chairperson Alan Lynch presented Vinny lynch with a commemorative wall plaque with a personalised inscription from all at our club.

The event finished off with tea and coffee and a chat about the bright future that lies ahead for our club, due in no small part to the participation of our volunteers and the endorsement of our sponsors.

If you have the time or if you have the resources to help the club in some way, we would love to hear from you. Please get in touch with the club secretary, Colm Anderson via email at Secretary.garda.dublin@gaa.ie
